Description

Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft, chewy holiday cookies loaded with semisweet and white chocolate chips, buttery vanilla flavor, and a festive bakery-style texture that makes them perfect for Christmas baking, cookie exchanges, dessert trays, and cozy winter treats.


Ingredients

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

3/4 cup white chocolate chips

2 tablespoons holiday sprinkles or sparkling sugar, optional


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and creamy.

4. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until smooth.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until combined.

6. Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips.

7. Scoop the dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing the cookies a few inches apart.

8. Top with holiday sprinkles or sparkling sugar if using.

9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden and the centers still look soft.

10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chilling the dough for 20 to 30 minutes can help create thicker cookies with a chewier center.

For a prettier bakery-style finish, press a few extra chocolate chips onto the tops of the dough balls before baking.

Do not overbake the cookies because they will continue to set as they cool on the baking sheet.
