Description

Buffalo Chicken Tater Tot Casserole is a cheesy, spicy, crowd-pleasing dinner made with shredded chicken, crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, ranch, and melted cheese for the ultimate easy casserole recipe.


Ingredients

3 cups cooked shredded chicken

1/2 cup buffalo sauce

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup ranch dressing

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 bag frozen tater tots, about 32 ounces

2 green onions, sliced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/3 cup blue cheese crumbles, optional


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

2. In a large bowl, mix the shredded chicken, buffalo sauce, cream cheese, ranch dressing, cheddar cheese, mozzarella, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper until creamy and well combined.

3. Spread the buffalo chicken mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.

4. Arrange the frozen tater tots in a single even layer over the top.

5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the casserole is bubbling and the tater tots are golden and crisp.

6. Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes, then top with sliced green onions and blue cheese crumbles if desired before serving.

Notes

Rotisserie chicken works especially well here and saves time.

For a milder casserole, reduce the buffalo sauce slightly and add an extra spoonful of ranch.

Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for the crispiest tater tot topping.
