Description

Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Sandwiches are a crispy, golden, indulgent dessert with a warm cream cheese and strawberry filling. This easy cheesecake sandwich recipe uses pantry staples and is perfect for quick sweets or party treats. Try it with cinnamon sugar for a fairground twist.

Ingredients

2 slices white sandwich bread

2 tablespoons cream cheese

1 tablespoon powdered sugar

2 tablespoons chopped fresh strawberries

1 egg

1 tablespoon milk

2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter or neutral oil (for frying)

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in chopped strawberries.

2. Trim crusts off the bread and roll each slice flat with a rolling pin.

3. Add filling to one slice of bread and top with another slice. Press edges to seal and crimp with a fork.

4. In a shallow bowl, whisk egg and milk. Dip each sandwich into the egg wash.

5. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry sandwiches for 2 minutes per side or until golden.

6. Mix sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. While sandwiches are still hot, coat them in the cinnamon sugar.

7. Serve warm and enjoy immediately for best texture.

Notes

Use white sandwich bread for the best texture and sealing.

Filling can be customized with other berries like raspberries or blueberries.

Reheat leftovers in a skillet for crispy texture; avoid microwaving if possible.
