Description

Fudgy Brownie Waffles are rich, chocolatey, and crisp around the edges with a soft brownie center, making them the perfect dessert waffles for brunch, dessert, or an easy homemade chocolate treat.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it with nonstick spray or a little butter.

2. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until glossy and smooth.

3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until the mixture is fully combined.

4. Stir in the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt until no dry streaks remain.

5. Pour in the milk and mix until the batter is thick and smooth.

6. Fold in the chocolate chips.

7. Spoon the batter into the hot waffle iron, spreading it gently without overfilling.

8. Cook until the waffles are set and slightly crisp on the outside.

9. Remove carefully and let them rest for 1 minute before serving.

10. Serve warm with powdered sugar, whipped cream, berries, or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

These waffles are best served warm for the fudgiest texture and crispest edges.

Do not overmix the batter once the flour goes in, or the waffles can turn dense instead of tender.

If your waffle iron runs hot, reduce the cooking time slightly so the outside does not overcook before the center sets.
