Description

Homemade Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits are soft, cheesy, buttery garlic biscuits baked until golden and brushed with a savory parsley butter, making them the perfect copycat side dish for seafood, soup, pasta, and cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

3/4 cup whole milk

2 tablespoons melted butter

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and salt.

3. Add the cold cubed butter and cut it into the dry mixture until small crumbs form.

4. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese.

5. Pour in the milk and mix just until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

6. Scoop portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them slightly apart.

7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the tops are lightly golden.

8. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, and chopped parsley.

9. Brush the warm biscuits generously with the garlic butter topping.

10. Serve warm.

Notes

Use cold butter so the biscuits bake up tender and soft.

Do not overmix the dough or the biscuits can turn dense instead of fluffy.

Freshly shredded cheddar melts better and gives a richer flavor than pre-shredded cheese.
