Description

Hot Chocolate Dessert Lasagna is a rich no bake dessert layered with chocolate cookie crust, creamy cheesecake filling, chocolate pudding, whipped topping, mini marshmallows, and chocolate chips for the ultimate hot chocolate inspired treat.


Ingredients

24 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed

6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

16 ounces whipped topping, divided

2 boxes instant chocolate pudding mix, 3.9 ounces each

3 cups cold milk

2 packets hot chocolate mix

1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

2 tablespoons chocolate shavings or cocoa powder


Instructions

1. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into fine crumbs and stir them with the melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish and chill for 10 minutes.

2. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then mix in the powdered sugar. Fold in 2 cups of the whipped topping until light and creamy. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled crust.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix, cold milk, and hot chocolate mix until thickened. Let it sit for 2 minutes, then spread it over the cream cheese layer.

4. Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer.

5. Top with mini marshmallows, mini chocolate chips, and chocolate shavings or cocoa powder.

6. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, before slicing and serving.

Notes

This dessert tastes even better after chilling overnight because the layers firm up nicely and the flavors blend together.

For cleaner slices, chill the pan thoroughly and wipe the knife between cuts.

You can add a peppermint twist with crushed candy canes on top during the holidays.
