Description

Roasted Christmas Nuts are a sweet and spiced holiday snack made with mixed nuts, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, sugar, and vanilla for a crisp, festive treat that is perfect for Christmas parties, edible gifts, and cozy seasonal snacking.

Ingredients

3 cups mixed nuts

1 large egg white

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white until foamy.

3. Add the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, salt, and vanilla extract, then whisk until combined.

4. Add the mixed nuts and toss until every piece is well coated.

5. Drizzle in the melted butter and toss again to distribute it evenly.

6. Spread the nuts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until fragrant and lightly toasted.

8. Let the nuts cool completely on the pan so the coating can crisp up.

9. Break apart any clusters and store in an airtight container.

Notes

These nuts make a great edible holiday gift when packed into jars or festive bags.

Use unsalted mixed nuts so the sweet spice coating stays balanced.

Let the nuts cool fully before storing or they may lose their crunch.
