Description
Southern Church Lady Pecans are sweet, buttery roasted pecans coated in cinnamon sugar and vanilla for a classic Southern snack that is perfect for holidays, gifting, parties, and easy homemade dessert tables.
Ingredients
4 cups pecan halves
1 large egg white
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a large baking sheet or roasting pan with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white until foamy, then stir in the vanilla extract.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
4. Add the pecan halves to the egg white mixture and toss until evenly coated.
5. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the pecans and stir well so every pecan is covered.
6. Drizzle the melted butter over the pecans and toss again.
7. Spread the pecans in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet.
8. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring once halfway through baking.
9. Remove from the oven and let the pecans cool completely before serving or storing.
Notes
Use fresh pecans for the best buttery flavor and crisp texture.
Stir halfway through baking so the coating cooks evenly and does not settle too much on the pan.
Let the pecans cool completely before storing or they may soften in the container.
